Article 1: Journey Into the art world
Finding your voice and sense of expression through art especially when words can't explain everything.
As the years go by and each month feels like a blimp in time, we question the universe and all it has to offer. From the smallest of things like how one walks to the biggest situations that impact everyday life.
(You may notice our articles are written in “we/us statements” ; in recent years we began to feel and realize we are more than just one but a collection of thoughts, emotions, and intentions. We hope this creates a gateway of connection from us to the viewers reading the articles.)
Life as an artist is a journey of creation. Every artist has a piece of the world they want to highlight. It's ironic how one says everyone can be an artist but if you talk to a stranger there is a fifty-fifty percent chance they may say I can't even sketch a stick figure. Don't get us wrong, we think this is a cheesy statement, but it is not true. In this sense, everyday mundane things are the act of creating. As one walks up to me, you create motion and we see images of you in fractions of a second in action until you stop before me. It is common to use action words casually when we are doing or making something happen, but most of us do not feel like artists.
Do you ever wonder why? Creative is in the air, but many can't feel the breeze. From personal experience we found visuals at an extremely young ageFrom the age of five, we were always drawing something, whether it was a complete drawing of our favorite character, a hand never seen (always behind their backs) or ordinary doodles in our school notebooks. Years passed and the breeze never faded. Saying all this makes us smile and laugh so hard we cough as we miss moments of air. We realized if we were to stay true to ourselves for 20 plus years we would not consider ourselves artists. How can one find their voice and sense of expression through art?
Natural creation vs creating with intention
Remember everyday is creation with itself; there isn't a moment in life when you're not creating, making, or doing. Even in the moments when you feel like you are doing nothing you are in fact showing something you don't realize. A subconscious level of motion that remains unnoticed. There is nothingness in the absence of something, but as you breathe and think, are you ever really in a state of nothingness? Does nothingness really exist? Natural creation is the subconscious creation of the universe. Most people who label themselves as artists do have natural creation but are also creating with intention. With intentionality, you can begin a journey into the art world. As you create with intention, you are able to express emotion and convey what is meaningful to you, control the narrative and expand your thoughts and ideas. With that comes choice of medium, there are a multitude of ways to expand your voice. Whether performance ,written, or visual art; art is the gateway to a world in which you connect and communicate who you are. You decide what you want to share with humanity, and that is what matters most.
