I recently explored this contrast in my latest acrylic painting. I wanted to capture that sense of being "untouchable" amidst the chaos, using soft textures and bold pigments to show that you don't have to be loud to be powerful. Being your most authentic, radiant self is the greatest revolution.

Some days you just need your companion. Hiro and Calcifer is an acrylic painting that cherishes the artist's companions. Starring one of Silent’s favorite characters from Studio Ghibli, Calcifer, and their dog Hiro. In this painting, you see Hiro hiding in Calcifer, a symbol of holding your love close. Just as Calcifer held Howl’s heart.

The world is always in a state of constant activity. Is there a moment to pause, or will time pass us by? Being pulled in multiple directions leads everyone into an unintentional place. Can we tell everything to pause and SYBAU? Who is in charge, and can things change? SYBAU is a response to the demands society places on us. In hopes that one day we take control of our lives and use our ability to create what we choose. This acrylic painting takes us to the sky, so everyone's voices fade, and we begin to hear our voice again.

The real conversation is happening without words, questioning if we need them.
As the character lies still, staring into space, their thoughts drift freely. The balloon, hovering and watching, becomes a reflection of the character’s inner voice. With no mouth on either figure, the exchange is made of feeling rather than speech: curiosity, longing, and quiet questioning. The balloon “asks” what the character is holding inside one’s dreams, worries, unspoken hopes: while the character “answers” by simply existing in that moment, open and vulnerable.
